Going forward there will be an updated sign in sheet to reflect in and out times for all the passengers as they get on and off of the bus. Attendance will ne taken at the time children enter the bus by calling out individual names. Counting will be done: before, during, and after the children get on and off the bus. We are hiring for bus monitors to ensure that there will always be an extra set of eyes. We are looking into purchasing bus alarms as well. On July 7, 2023 at 2:00p.m. there was a staff meeting in which we discussed the licensing requirements pertaining to transportation. We also discussed the correct procedures of loading the children on and off the bus as well as signing each child on and off the bus on the bus log. We discussed the correct way to check the bus making sure that no one is left behind as everyone exits the bus. We also discussed transportation supervision and how important it is for each of us to follow every procedure.

340:110-3-287(a) - Supervision. Supervision is the function of observing, overseeing, and guiding a child or group of children, including an awareness of, and responsibility for, the ongoing activity of each child, and being near enough to intervene when needed. The program is required to maintain supervision at all times.

340:110-3-281.2(d)(6) - Child passenger check. Before leaving the vehicle and in addition to the transportation attendance, the driver or last personnel in the vehicle documents completion of at least two methods of inspecting all areas of the vehicle for any remaining children to ensure no children are left on the vehicle.
