Complaint:
Behavior and Guidance: Serious - One staff used inappropriate physical discipline striking a child.
Plan to Correct
Staff member was placed on administrative leave immediately. The staff member is not allowed in the child care facility. The administration will meet with staff member on 3/4/24 to determine the future of their employment.
In the future, the center has in place and will implement new onboarding procedures to train new employees: The employees have an orientation training before they ever enter the classroom. The staff will implement a new peer review process to evaluate each other giving good feedback of interaction with children. The pyramid model is going to be accessed for the staff professional development. The center is looking for a trainer to do live training for the program. We will have an extra person that will go into the classrooms when a teacher needs to step out for a bathroom break always keeping two teachers in the classroom. We have mentors that observe the teachers in the classroom in the mornings. I will walk around more in the afternoon and assist the teachers being mindful of stressful situations.
